I currently have 112k xp until 89, which I can get in no time. I bought all the maples I had BEFORE I got my Ring of Fire and the Flame Gloves. They had been about 2m to buy about 60k of them. I really don't recall how many I purchased exactly, because it was a LONG time ago. Anyway, maples are much better. It is quite simple to make 2 million gp, also that I mostly did Chaos Druids. Only took me a RS gold few days. Maples are 145xp per log, and with fire gloves AND ring of fire its a little more.

I would recommend that you do willows to about level 50, then switch to maples. Utilize the sals Firemaking Calculator to find exactly how many logs you require for 99, then purchase them. It should be 2-4m. Not very costly. Last words: You better be prepared to puke out your brains after some time. I stopped firemaking and started crafting since it's so tiring. Maples will be way faster, and easier on the clicking finger.

Some helpful items that could help you accomplish your goal: Master Panance Horn: Provides Dual xp to every log you burn. You are getting a bonus 100 percent xp per log. Ring of Fire + Flame Gloves -- Available at levels 68, and 79 respectively (somebody might want correct on this ) -- They each give a 2% xp bonus once worn, but when worn they give 5 percent bonus. Does not seem like much but it may save you from burning off a few thousand logs at the long term.
